Flexible Testing

As specialists in flexible systems, we’ve developed an extensive range of rotary balancing capabilities to handle current and future requirements. With the ability to adapt to various rotor heads, blade connections and blade lengths, RedViking dynamic blade balance stands are capable of testing rotor blades from multiple aircraft and OEMs on a single tower. RedViking has provided systems with drivelines capable of nearly 6000HP continuous duty, generating speeds up to 400rpm with operation in either direction.

Dual Blade Lift Technology

The RedViking dynamic blade balance stand includes a one-of-a-kind dual blade lift device, allowing a blade to be unloaded and a new blade loaded in a single operation. This reduces changeover time and improves overall productivity.

Durable and Accurate in Desert Environments

Designed to protect, control, and monitor operating conditions of the gearbox tower structure, the RedViking whirl tower isolates the gearbox from potentially harmful loads, significantly improving test stand life. A weatherproof, air-conditioned enclosure allows your whirl tower to operate in difficult testing environments under which most systems would not function. It can be operated in temperatures ranging from 0°F to 110°F.

Safe and Ergonomic

We’ve designed our dynamic blade balance stands to protect the safety and ergonomics of your operators. Adjustable positions and locations are incorporated to fit 5th to 95th percentile of workers. All designs are free of pinch points, and operational activities can all be made from catwalks or stairs. All machines have electrical, air and hydraulic disconnects capable of being locked out, and emergency “mushroom” type pushbuttons are located on the test stand and console. Also, automatic handrails, remote camera controls, and intercoms allow for fast remote setup and operation.

Improved Testing Accuracy with Vsync™

Vsync™ software is utilized to incorporate blade control, speed, and measurement into one comprehensive package, greatly reducing operator training requirements and improving testing accuracy. A host computer, video processing computer, and 3 high-resolution display screens allow your stand to be controlled from a remote location while control consoles at the base of and on the work platform of the tower blade load, changeover, maintenance, and calibration.
